Important Notice on Export Licenses
Orders for Yttrium, Gadolinium, Erbium, Magnesium-Yttrium and related alloys may require a Chinese dual-use export license.
Official review period: 45 working days.
Actual timeline: usually 2–4 months, sometimes longer.
Please plan 3–5 months and provide end-user documents as early as possible.
Q1:How long for dual‑use export license for yttrium / gadolinium / erbium metal & their alloys?
A: The official statutory review period is 45 working days after the authority accepts a complete application. In practice, for these controlled products, the actual timeline is usually 3–5 months, sometimes longer, because additional documents and inter-ministerial consultations may be required. We recommend allowing 4–6 months from order confirmation to shipment.
Q2:Do you accept small trial orders? Any extra cost?
A:Yes, trial orders are acceptable. However, controlled products require a separate export license, which carries a fixed compliance surcharge. Annual framework or bulk contracts can reduce or waive most extra fees. Trial order size does not shorten the license timeline.
Q3:What traceability documents can you provide?
A:Batch-by-batch rare-earth supply-chain traceability statements, vacuum-melting production records, civil end-use declarations, COA, MSDS, and other export documents as required.
Q4:Which of your products are dual‑use controlled?
A:Metals and master alloys containing Yttrium, Gadolinium, Erbium and certain heavy rare earths are subject to dual-use export control. Whether a specific product requires a license depends on the official control list, end-use, end-user and destination. We confirm case by case.
Q5:What cooperation modes for overseas metal distributors?
A:We offer annual minimum‑purchase framework, consolidated shipment and tiered volume‑based pricing. Vacuum‑melting custom formula available.
Q6: Who applies for the export license?
A: We, as the Chinese exporter, submit the license application. You need to provide the required end-user and end-use documents.
Q7: What documents do you need from us?
A: Normally we need an End-User and End-User Certificate,End-User Undertaking Letter from your downstream customer, company profile, and other documents requested by the authority. We can provide templates and guidance.
Q8: Why does the actual time exceed 45 working days?
A: The 45 working days is only the statutory review time after a complete application is accepted. Additional time is needed for document preparation, end-user letter collection, inter-ministerial consultation and administrative queues.
Q9: Can you ship before the license is approved?
A: No. Export without a valid license is illegal. We can only arrange shipment after the license is granted.
Q10: What happens if the application expires?
A: If required documents are not provided before the deadline, the application will expire and must be restarted. The whole timeline resets, so early document submission is critical.
